I just finished reading a number of articles about the rapid increase of sexual assaults on women and children in Europe. More specifically Sweden, Norway, France, but to name only a few (links provided below). The more horrifying thing is that the majority of the victims are claiming that it is generally Muslim men whom have emigrated from their homelands. I must note at this point before I go any further, that I am neither Swedish or Muslim but rather a concerned Canadian, woman, mother, and citizen of the world in which I love so dearly. It must also be said that this blog is in no way a means for anyone other than Swedish and neighbouring governments to take matters into their own hands or to start anything that would put themselves or others in danger.
My real concern, other than for the women and children who are being brutally raped and beaten, is for the completely inadequate government the seem to not be doing too much to protect their most vital and precious possessions and resources- their wives, sisters, nieces, and daughters. Why are these men not being deported? Why are they waiting for up to a year on the outside while they wait for their first court appearance all the while being able and most likely willing to rape again?!
Here in Canada, the mere mention of a sexual assault, an individual is picked up, arrested, held in jail, not just until their court appearance, but until a sentence has been given, they are acquitted, or charges have been withdrawn. These are not complicated procedures, nor is our government concerned with 'saving-face' for religious reasons or concerned with regards to someone's ethnicity.. No. Here my friend, the laws are very clear about what constitutes as rape. And if you or someone you know chooses, yes, I said 'chooses', because that's what rape is, it's a choice, then you my friend, deserve every minute you spend behind bars and every atrocity you endure while you're there. How's that for insanity?!
